In January, we often feel sluggish - both in body and mind - due to short days and cold, dark winter nights. It can feel like we have very limited physical and emotional resources available to us, and it’s no surprise when a good proportion of the animal kingdom hibernate at this time.
Sadly hibernation is not an option for the majority of us, although taking some tips from nature can definitely support us during this time. Keeping warm, hydrated and taking the opportunity to rest and sleep is a good focus for January. As is ‘detoxing’ which goes one step further - cleansing and nourishing the body from the inside which allows us to re-energise and ward of the many diseases lurking at this time of year.
What is a detox?
A detox involves cleansing the blood by removing impurities from the blood in the liver, where toxins are processed for elimination. The body also eliminates toxins through the kidneys, intestines, lungs, lymphatic system, and skin. However, over time impurities aren't properly filtered and the body is adversely affected as toxins begin to build up.
At Jung Shim, we can see this toxin build up which stops energy flowing effectively in our bodies. Put simply, it leads to energy blockages that can make lead to unexplained fatigue, sluggish elimination, skin irritations and allergies, bags under the eyes, bloating and Menstrual problems.
A detox which re-energises
Whilst a detox programme can help the body’s natural cleansing process and allows us to press the ‘reset’ button, here at Jung Shim we also look at aiding this process by opening up the energy channels to improve energy flow.
And, just as our bodies experience a build up of toxins, our minds can also become congested and overloaded. In a busy world which is on full speed, every minute of every day, we need to find ways of selecting what is important and what is not; what is worth listening to and what is not; who we will our precious time with and who we will not.
Re-energise beyond January
At Jung Shim, we run energy assessments, energy treatments and classes to bring an extra dimension to the January detox. Whilst most only last for one month, this goes beyond that and can become a lifestyle.
Jung Shim means ‘beautiful mind’. At our Jung Shim Centres our aim is to help people recharge the body and clear the mind to regain our health and wellbeing.
We offer energy treatments, energy classes as well as lifestyle advice all designed to help recharge you human energy.
