At Jung Shim we understand that our energy levels can be affected by the lifestyle we lead, our physical environment and emotional patterns. Yet, we also believe that people’s energy can be affected by the history and energy of their family. This we call karma.
In this blog, we look into Ancestor Healing and the increasing interest of people researching their family history to see how their lives have been shaped by previous generations.
It is commonly known that we inherit our physical features through our genetic make-up. It is a lesser known point that our energy system, emotional patterns, ancestor’s life experiences, memories, pain, health issues and even addictions can be imprinted and carried forward to future generations. It is not uncommon that major events, both good and bad, in people’s lives have a similarity to events in their ancestor’s lives.
What is Ancestor Healing?
Ancestor healing is a profound and spiritual course offered at Jung Shim and is rooted in the ancient Eastern practice to respect ancestors and appreciate life. The programme uses light (frequency), energy and sound (vibration) to clear inherited energy patterns that can affect our life, wellbeing and relationships.
Ancestor healing allows you to clear the ancestral karma by healing the negative energy patterns transmitted from previous generations. This in turn frees you from their negative influences. Just as we inherit positive aspects from our ancestors, we also inherit negative patterns.
As increasing numbers of people strive for a healthier and happier life through dietary changes, self-development and spiritual work, people still find they have ailments and patterns they just cannot shift. Ancestor healing can often be the change people are looking for to heal their karma and family patterns.
The Cycle of Life
Life is the union of spirit, mind and body. Our spirit comes from the universe, our body from our parents and they come together as one and are connected by the mind.
Death is the separation of spirit, mind and body, when our mind ceases to be the connection between the two. At this point our body goes back to the earth and our spirit and mind live on, with all the collective memories, habits, emotional attachments and desires we have created during our life. At the time of death, the brightness of our spirit is fixed depending on how we lived our lives. Our physical body is the vehicle through which we can brighten our spirit by practising a good-hearted, generous and compassionate mind. Therefore, it is only during life that we can change the brightness of our spirit.
When our physical existence comes to an end, our spirit lives on in the invisible world and has a duty to take care of future generations on Earth. Because family members share the same genes, their vibration is very similar and it is easy to connect to each other. This is why the state of our ancestors has a constant impact on our lives.
The Ancestor Healing Programme
Ancestor healing is a transformational programme which consists of one or four ceremonies over a four week period. The ceremonies take place in the meditation room at the Jung Shim centre (called the ‘Saemtu’), which has a very special energy.
During this period you are supported with energy treatments, classes and meditations as well as personal guidance. During each ceremony beautiful food, fruit, flowers and rice are offered to show respect and gratitude to the source of our lives and ancestors. Ancestors in turn receive energy and light to transform and become brighter. This can bring about profound changes for the whole family.
